It was just the top of a bubble.

I put a large bubble on top of a cup, put some light on it from a softbox and took the shot before it burst. Cool ain't it

JenΕ‘ Barcsay - Anatomy for the Artist is the best anatomy book I can recommend. Any color theory lecture is good, even the ones you can find freely on youtube. As for the painting, Gnomon resources are the best out there.
