Hey!! Yeah, sorry, I've been moving away from DA and posting mostly to me Behance/Website. Right now I'm working my butt off trying to get a comic book for graduation. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of May. It's been a huge undertaking, but I think I can do it... Actually, I have to, I have a Kickstarter that got funded, so I really need to make sure I can honor all the rewards.

How have things been going for you? Still in school?

Oh, I thought you're busy on FA with commissions or so but that explains it too why you've been more absent here on DA. I think I haven't seen any link to your website yet apart from your older blogs. Do you have a link?
Good luck for your comic! The page you've showed already looks really promising. Is there any chance the full comic can be found/bought online? =) (Smile)

Yeah, I'm still at the university, though I should have started my internship this month. Sadly the person responsible for it had to turn me down last minute due to an car accident and now I'm looking for another internship somewhere where I could start instantly. It's not so easy, since internships usually have to be arranged weeks/months ahead and now I've been thrown into cold water due to my place having been cancelled because of the accident, since every institution I asked already got all internship places taken or can't arrange an instant place. Well tough luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your internship. I hope you were able to work everything out. If not, I'm sure you have managed to work out something since then. I wish I could offer some help in some way, but with an ocean between us, I'm not sure what I could even do.

YES! The comic book is totally online for purchase. I have the links on my website (LFoxVisualDesign.com) at the bottom of the page demos. I seriously JUST finished it a few weeks ago. It turned out great, though, so I'm really happy I saw it through. Too broke to send out the copies I ordered for Kickstarter, but I'll get paid again in another week and I can send them then.

I may be getting back into both FA and DA. After I graduated, we moved about 600 miles away from my hometown. It's been great, but also really difficult. I don't really know anyone here and I impulsively check Facebook multiple times a day to see what my friends and family are up to. The distance just leaves me feeling depressed and isolated, though, so I'm leaving facebook for a bit and trying to get back into the art community. I'm finally starting the SciFi comic I had in mind for FA, so I should be posting pages there soon.

Life after graduation has been... difficult. But I think I'm finally start to find things that make me happy. Now, if I could just find a job in my field that pays me good money, I'd be set.

Thanks for always messaging me back. I know I have been less than reliable as of late, but I want to change that. Feeling rootless has made me stop and think about the times I was really enjoying myself. Lots of those times involve being on sites like DA and FA and talking with people who have similar interests and want to make things as much as I do. I'm going to try harder to keep in contact with this community, so do expect another 7 months to go be before I reply to your next message :) (Smile)

No problem about the late reply. I'm kinda slow at the moment too due to Bachelor project preparations.

It actually turned out quite good, despite the fact that every thing that I planned to do this year didn't worked out the way I wanted. I got to do an awesome internship at the archeological institute of a monastery near the border to Italy, since they were by coincidence searching for a student to illustrate their new book. It was really cool with nice people and lots of archeology tasks and in the end they were really happy about my works for the book. That gave me a great work attest and already offered another job for when I'm done with my Bachelor in June. So at least I won't be without work after university for a while =) (Smile)
I planned on making an exchange semester in Iceland in August but they turned me down again due to too many applicants. Same in Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt since according to them I'm way to experienced already, so they felt bad about taking me and letting me sit with professors that don't even draw as good as I do (at least that's what they said). So I was working over the summer to get some money and now I do another internship at the Swiss National Park about the Humongous Mushroom (Armillaria ostoyae). After that I'll do my Bachelor project with them as well.
So it turned out quite good for being completely improvised.

Did your comic sell good so far? I'll try to get one as well then as soon as you got new copies of it =) (Smile)
Well I'm glad to see some art from you again. I'm still not too much into anthro stuff but since you do mixed stuff as well, there's always something nice to see in your gallery. I'll definitely check out your new sci-fi comic!

Also I kinda felt the same when I had to go to Zurich to study. It's a nice city and all but I guess I'm just too much of a nature person that is more connected to the mountains from where I come from. Plus, here's where my friends are, so that kinda caused my depression as well to be anonymously in a big city where I just felt alone. But hey, I'm already better with my depression, since I worked at home for several months, so I hope you'll blend in with your new living place as well. Or at least find a way to stay better in contact with your family and friends in your home town =) (Smile)
