-.o I've never heard of McNernia...Β

mm... I think if he's nice to her she'll be nice back. She's quiet, but not unfriendly. She's just a bit over cautious, but once he's got her trust she'll be more open to him. She doesn't open to very many people.

He's a gentleman. The quiet one who is staying in the corner as large nation's meet with the nations of the world.

He'd be curious about Israel.

"why are you the one in the corner. That one up with Iran is railing about you".

Israel: Because every time I speak I end up shouted down like some sort of monster. For now it is better to remain silent, but I will not be made mute while Palestine claims me a baby-killer.

Mcnernia raises an eyebrow looking at her. He's not very hateful but Israel would have heard of a confrontation between him and America. Over the whole Libya situation.

"well I've met Palestine..he's a bit nutty but he.. I've seen the footage out of the West Bank and Gaza. Well...let's start with Gaza. The whole blockade is ...it does not send the right message and bedlam of 48. It makes Palestine afraid..you open up on his fishing boats and you've wiped out villages of his.
Cramming his people into a Barrell..I'm paraphrasing Palestine here. White Phosphorus and that's been used on UN schools."

Hes met Palestine and he's honestly quite confused. Being an honorable being he's not one to tolerate Innocents dying. Either on a bus or in a walled city. He's also wary of Israel's mental state.

"by the description of what Palestine says... Germanys old boss taught you well...you don't fight insurgents via brute Force...I know what you offered him and I think he's a fool for refusing. but clapping kiddies in jail over a few rocks when ya burn their schools down..." He's wanting to teach.

Israel's hazel eyes slowly slid over to meet his. The look on her face was cold and angry. He had hit a nerve, and she simply turned her attention to the front to avoid speaking to him further. Now was not the time to lose her temper, especially to another nation that was as ignorant as the rest. "The radicals teach hatred against Jews in their schools," she spoke softly, calmly to him, "Even if we did actually do such a thing, that would be a reason to do it. However, they like to hide their weapons caches behind civilians, especially women, children, and disabled people. Would you also like to know what happens when a person has a rock thrown at them? If the rock makes its mark, the skull could fracture, a concussion will be the result, but even worse is when the blood flows into the eyes and a person cannot see the next one coming at them. Or worse yet... when a rock is thrown at a moving vehicle. The vehicle is only going around thirty-five to forty miles an hour, and so is that rock when it collides with the windshield and hits you in the face."

(Thanks for the fave)
Mcnernia did not back down, Palestine may be an autistic mother--ker but the little shite had a point. He could handle himself in aΒ  debate with the woman. He looked at the woman with his calmest expression forcing a smile. He wanted to genuinely learn. And he wanted Palestine to answer for the issues he'd caused. He however could perhaps understand what the man wanted. he looked at Israel. No slamming his hand into the wall dramatically. he wanted to help. He was a big and powerful nation.Β  Which meant he couldΒ  not act like a petulant child.
"That is quite accurate and ive heard the reports, rest well assured that Ive kept such things in mind but the fact of the matter is, I suppose the sticker here in any sort of peace process between the two of you will be the settlements...the settlers need to be kept under control, and well your people have burned churches, vandalized them, there are radicals on both sides and yours are backed by the power of your army. Ya done torched a bricklayer, a teacher and their children. They were not terrorists and the reason that the people fight is because, frankly...."

They were interrupted by another man heΒ  was like Mcnernia except more dark in his skin tone. He seemed African or Latin. She looked at Mcnernia. "Mac, you..."Β  He launched into a tirade and Israel would be hardΒ  pressed to keep up with it being a foreign tounge from the world beyond. An Amalgam of English, French and Spanish. He wore a military uniform. Israel would catch her name. And perhaps have a feeling she'd sold him guns on one occasion. She would know he was active in Colombia helping to contain the FARC. Mcnernia would be somewhat overwhelmed and quiet....chastised.

"My apologies for Inyurstyas interruption, hes very much against the whole...you've got one of us in your corner...I'm just concerned your not doing it right, give them good paying jobs...get the takfiri out, America should stop funding Saudi Arabia..."

"What America does is what his president desires," she told him firmly, coolly, "As far as I am concerned, McNernia, the settlers have done nothing. Perhaps you need a lesson in history... every time I have been in war it was because my neighbors wanted to see me dead. 'We will push the Jews into the sea,' they claimed and that was their intent. Palestine is a useful tool for that endeavor and little else. We give aid to Palestinian civilians. We fire warning shots to the roofs of buildings to inform possible civilians to get out before sending a missile back at those that wish to fight us. It is not my fault that Palestine chooses to side with the Islamic radicals and let them butcher his people for the sake of pinning blame onto us."

"It is the fault of weak men that value their ideology over the lives of their children," she continued, "A prime minister of mine once was asked when the Palestinians will seek peace with us. She said, 'When the Palestinians love their children more than they love to kill us.' Perhaps you should instead think upon that than accuse me of killing children just like every other nation that listens to that schmendrick."

Mcnernia nodded sagely. Remembering his own experiences with Jihad. The issue of the matter was 1948 and blind panic. Hysteria, riots, all manner of things. He looked at her, considering her points. "You've the best Special Forces on the planet one could argue and yet you are engaging in a whole lot of questionable activities. There are questions I have, and I wanted answered. One, bulldozing the houses of suspects, two, the night raids terrorizing the kids and three, the blockade of Gaza.....and also, four, the villages that Palestine rants about in 48, seems like you were taking notes from Germany." He gestured and asked if she would walk with him. He abhorred violence. He looked at Israel as a paradox. Understanding her would be good for understanding the game.

"I would not tolerate some psychos running around dropping rockets on my cities but you have two choices, either send in commandos and eliminate the leaders or level a city block."

"Which is why we go in and take them out. Those 'raids' as you so called them," she replied, "The houses are often containing underground caches of weapons. The blockade, as it were, prevents people smuggling of weapons into the area as well as jihadists. However, it is not absolute; we inspect the ships that come in and let in the ones that pass inspection."

She suddenly had a faraway look in her eyes. She wasn't looking ahead at anything; her eyes were a thousand miles away in a constant warzone that she wished would stop. "We found a mentally disabled man chained and starved next to a missile launcher. I went in with my people.... he couldn't understand why people were so scary around him. He was hungry and thirsty. I gave one of my people a bottle of water from my pack and he knelt down next to the man and let him drink. We got him out of the chains and took him back to Israel to be treated. He wasn't the only... only one." Her voice broke without her volition; her jaw flexed anxiously as she attempted to get herself back under control again so she could not show weakness in front of another nation. The walls of Israel were thick and tall, and sometimes a portion of it crumbled.Β

"Warning shots allow civilians to leave an area. It is an attempt to prevent loss rather that continue it. The land we have won is given back as part of peace negotiations. We won that land over decades of war being constantly declared on me by my neighbors. However, that is not what Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt want. That is not what Palestine wants. It has never been what they wanted," she said softly, "They only want me dead. They only want Everyone in me dead. Jews, Christians, Muslims... all who are Israeli no matter what their religion or heritage are subject to that awful end when my neighbors declare they will wipe me out of existence. I have been forced to be stronger than anything around me, forced to fight tooth and nail for my very life, and that is why my armed forces are superior. That is why my technology is advanced. That is why every man and woman that comes of age must become a soldier to protect their neighbors. No one wants to fight. We Have to in order to survive."

"well I'd say America is at fault for buying Saudi Oil and without the actions of Jordan's king you may have been caught without warning in 73...Iran was one of your dear friends and he allowed your people to go home after so long."

He's concerned for the wee Lassie...she's sweet behind that exterior. He sometimes goes to a similar place. Where his own people could be the ones betraying his trust...he remembers bloodshed...having to do what Israel is accused of. When he makes an effort to repair the past. People are wary. He's built up his military...young Mcnernians serve in each generation. He can relate to Israel. Though he's heard things about the Jewish faith. He won't preach to her. If HE is coming again she will know him. He looks at her.

"my Government is considering handling UN administration of the West Bank...it'll be less contrevserial...I'll put troops in place...along with Inyurstya..."

"That will have to go through my Prime Minister. If he decides it is fair, then it will happen. As far as I am concerned," she went silent for a moment took a deep breath, "While I welcome support, I have been fighting since the day I was formed. I can take care of myself. Thank you, however, for at least listening to me."

"Well, your welcome." He would smile.

Mcnernias PM would write on behalf of the Santiago Alliance proposing Santiago Anti-Communist Treaty organization (SACTO) troops to administer the West Bank, withdrawing most of the IDF for a much needed rest. The issue of Gaza and the Palestinian claim to the gas would be brought up at a later date along with the other things ISrael was doing. Things which to Mcnernia himself. "Would backfire inevitably."

Israel turned her hazel eyes on him, much of the coolness gone. Her walls were still up, but the crumbling he caught had allowed her to open a little to him. "You may call me Amiel," her voice was softer and more welcoming than before.

He smiled warmly. "What should I know about settlers and the natives, rest well assured I know counter insurgency well."

He would show her documentaries of his troops in action. Humanitarians aye, but they were also capable of being effective. A secenario was presented. Mcnernian doctrine for a place like gaza called for extensive survaillence and pinpoint strikes against the leadership with special forces.

"Actually, from what I understand, his people promised the Jews a homeland from a portion of his territory won during the Great War. And even before that, there were cries from the Jews to have a homeland of their own where it once stood. When Britain won the land in the war, he created British Palestine after the old Roman name given to the land that was used to divide my people from their home. After the second world war, I... became."

She didn't really have a good word for what happened. She just woke up and several people took care of her. Britain took her in to keep her safe while Palestine, also young, tried to hurt her. It was all so chaotic and hard to describe.
