You're welcome, Tony! I got lost for words, you know. I really wanted to write a comment and had so much to say that I ended up not saying anything at all. I'm glad the
kinda spoke for me instead. =]

I use Apophysis for most of my fractals and Mandelbulb 3D when I have some more courage, haha. You can click on their names to get them!
I think Apo even has an indonesian version ...

Hi. After your suggestion, I had a go at editing my fractal to try and preserve both the vignette effect and the highlights on the swirls. I tried toning down the colour corrections, too. The edit is here , and here is the original for comparison. I'd be really grateful for your opinion, if/when you have time!

The edited version looks perfect to me. Did you fix it by applying a different blending mode to the vignette effect's layer or by re-rendering the fractal without a background and adding a white layer with darkened borders beneath it?

Great, thanks again for your input! I did try a different blending mode, but it didn't work very well... The second idea sounds a lot more sensible than what I actually did, which was to manually erase the parts of the vignette layer that were obscuring the swirls - I'm not very technically-minded when it comes to Photoshop.
