# About me

I'm straight forward, blunt, and to the point. I speak my mind and don't censor myself unless it's necessary. My sense of humor is off the wall, dry, and dark. I'm also pretty laid back and rarely stress over anything. Some people have perceived me as cold and emotionless. Not so. I'm just detached.

I'm mainly here to enjoy all of the art by the many talented people on deviantart. My favorite type of art is abstract with bright colors and a lot of things going on in the image.

I'm currently learning and practicing on location sketching. I'm not trying to be an artist and I'm not going for realism. To be able to draw what I see in a simplified way with expressive lines and strokes and vibrant colors is what I'm after. Do a Google image search for "Teoh Yi Chie" or "urban sketch" and you'll see what I mean by looking at the lines, the simplified objects, and vibrant colors.

I also still enjoy just scribbling and doodling. It's fun and therapeutic to put my mind on paper and not follow any rules or structure. My scribbles don't need to have any rhyme or reason. They can be uncensored, explicit, and graphic. At times they're where my most vibrant colors, expressive and dynamic lines and strokes can be found.

If you want to know more about me see my --> Facebook info page for the whole nine yards.

I'm not trying to be an artist. What I mean is I don't seek to sell anything, at least not at this time. I'm not trying to get any of my stuff into a museum either. I like the idea of urban sketching because it can be simple and loose or complex. It feels approachable. It's a good starting point for me.Β Β

There's one other thing. These are pricey, but you might want to try them at some point for markers. Crescent has a line of sketchbooks called RENDR and Canson has what they call the wall sketchbooks. The idea is that nothing bleeds or shows through to the opposite side of a sheet for either of these. RENDR is available on Amazon and other sites. The Wall I've only seen on Dick Blick's site. Just thought I'd drop that in. I've seen videos of both and they do live up to their claims. Β I'm planning on getting The Wall sketchbook soon.Β

Something in my gallery to please everyone. Glad you enjoy the Warrior Beauty series.

When I get more time (whenever that may be!) I need to read over your journal. Its about your proposed manga I see. I don't think I can truly help you out. My style isn't manga/anime.

Have you ever read an explicit adult story or seen a drawing or comic of that nature that gave you a lump in your chest? Ya know the author or artist grips with you something ya can't handle and ya think "What the hell is wrong with him?" But then ya start to like it and end up thanking him.
