Don't mean to sound rude or anything, but as far as I know heavy metal is often attributed to Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. I'm not discrediting Jimi in any way, he was brilliant, but those 3 bands are considered more the founders of the genre of heavy metal. Actually a review of one of Sabbath's very early performances, back when they started out, described their sound as being "like heavy metal falling", which some argue is how the genre earned its name. Jimi Hendrix is more hard rock than metal.

Well the documentary on Sky Arts about metal never once related Hendrix or his song Purple Haze to metal, it's where i heard the quote so I couldn't tell you who said it, I wasn't around, just saying what I know. I've listened to Purple Haze and I don't think it's metal. Still she doesn't have to list him just because of that song or the fact that you say he invented heavy metal.

This may seem like a weird question, especially since I've painted Ace before, but I wanna make sure I have the colors right: what colors go into Ace's makeup? On the one painting I've done, I used white, blue, and silver.

YeAh there's white blue silver and black. A tip though to make the makeup look like it has more form on the face is to use some different shades of blue, like pick an icy blue a darker richer blue and maybe even a blue green. Hope that helps
