My biggest suggestion is adopt groups! Lots and LOTS of adopt groups! Also if you are in a discord with a promo chat I'd also suggest posting a link in there!
It's always a bit slow at first but if you keep at it and consistently upload adopts you'll start building up a basis of people who keep coming back to purchase them!

As for my art program, I use Procreate on my Ipad! I pretty much only use the script brush and the soft airbrush for drawing and blending!
For inspo imgs/color ref I mainly use the website Unsplash! But I also recommend Pexels and Pixabay! They're all high quality royalty free image sites ^^
And as for just inspiration in general, I can't quite pinpoint a specific thing as mainly I design to destress and just get my creative juices flowing in general. But learning abt the actual genetics and ways like cat patterning works, as well as just mindlessly browsing DA for hours looking through tons of adopts and trying to dissect in my mind what techniques each artist uses helped me a lot as well!!!!
