reposting stolen artwork?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torathor In reply to TerusTheBird [2019-02-09 00:08:44 +0000 UTC]

er, no. i spend hours at a time freehand copying the original art while recording a screencast, then edit it into a video. since dA's video is shite, i post the pics here and the videos on facebook. it's actually a lot harder than it sounds and looks and is a centuries-old method of learning how to draw good. take a close look at my pics vs the original ones and you'll see the imperfections in mine. nothing stolen about it.

Hey there! I just wanted to let you know that Final Fantasy 9 is on Steam and that means PC! You know what this means? The possibly of modding it to our Ice Cavern idea can come true!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torathor In reply to LaurentLegacy7 [2016-05-05 06:08:38 +0000 UTC]

True, people can totally break the game and mush interesting new bits in now XD Tho I wonder if it'll ever develop the same mod community that Skyrim got?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-05-14 01:30:35 +0000 UTC]

If the fans will it then anything is possible. Now, do we know anyone who can Mod? I for the life of me don’t know how and we need to get the source code for Final Fantast 9 if we are going to bring our TOTALLY AWESOME story with the Cave Imps and over all new changes that Gaia will be going through after the game ends.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torathor In reply to LaurentLegacy7 [2016-05-29 18:37:19 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure there's a lotta people already hacking away at the game. Just google "ff9 mod community" and see what happens. I'm not a programmer, but my understanding of source code is that it's very very very difficult to get just by dissecting the game (not to mention all the blocks and protections squeenix has probably put on everything), but people have been modding the hell out of Minecraft without source code for years, so I don't think it's strictly necessary. Just need somebody competent and that's not an evil bastard that'll build a virus into their modded version of the game...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-06-16 03:59:46 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I goggled "FF9 Mod Community" and from what I can find, no one yet has to mod FF9 yet. I guess you are right, it really is that hard. But for games like Minecraft and Doom, they are pretty much block games while FF9 is a ground up art game with LOTS of code. So it might be a while until someone can do what we want.

Torathor In reply to LaurentLegacy7 [2016-06-16 19:58:16 +0000 UTC]

It's possible that the linear gameplay and lockdowns on parts of the world indicate extreme difficulty in modding. Plus it came out in 2000, before online multiplayer was really a thing, so it's possible that the programming is such that it doesn't behave with mods. Unlike Pokemon, which was literally programmed in Assembly, which made the creative process so tightly controlled and efficient at the most basic level that anybody can stick a level on top of that and make ALL THE MODS XD I dunno. It may just be the game engine is a bitch.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-06-26 21:46:55 +0000 UTC]

Hmm...when you put it that way...and when you think of how FF9 was built...I really have to agree with you. The game seems to be built into the ground and their is little you can do alternate it. 2000 was just the beginning of the new era of online play, so I do not think it was possible back then.

But thanks to new programs and skilled hackers and new updates, we may be able to do something with it. I hope we can get SOME mod up for us. What engine was it either way? Maybe that does have something to do with it.

Torathor In reply to LaurentLegacy7 [2016-07-15 01:45:03 +0000 UTC]

Hey, at least it's a super tight program, right? No glitches that I ever saw, and definitely none as humiliating as the flying mammoth in Skyrim XD

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-07-20 00:22:50 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow, you are so right. XD There was NO problems with the game at all. O_O It was super tight in its code.

lol Squaresoft existed in the golden era of video games imo, when graphics were just getting good, but not so good they became game-breaking, and they had all the buttons they ever needed and long-lasting stable boxes to play them on.

And then Enix happened...

C'est la video game industry.

On the bright side, there's the independent game developers booming!

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-08-19 22:45:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh that is so true, some small time names have exploded onto the scene and Steam is their stomping ground for when they gain more skill. The last few titans of video games, like Nintendo and Microsoft are on their last legs.

Still...I can't help but think that Sega is making a comeback.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torathor In reply to LaurentLegacy7 [2016-09-02 23:41:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it'd be nice of Steam had a better vetting process, but Valve is so uncommunicative it's enough to make you wanna shake them 'til their teeth rattle I doubt Microsoft will truly topple anytime soon, they're not in quite as ridiculously good a position as Nintendo, but they've got their fingers in lots of pies throughout the electronics industry, and that does buy security in the long run.

Seeeegaaa!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LaurentLegacy7 In reply to Torathor [2016-09-07 23:58:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh so very true...and Valve can't even count to 3!

That is the truth, Microsoft is quiet the powerhouse when it comes to its other products.

At least Sega makesΒ games while Nintendo does...what ever the blazes they are doing now.Β
