I'm using Photoshop CS5 and the normal chalk/round-brush - nothing special
I always have been interested in drawing/painting, since I was a kid... I learned a lot through Artschool and YouTube.
FZD School of Design is also a very interesting channel on Youtube, give it a try!

ah and speedpaint means: you set yourself a certain amount of time, for example half an hour and try to get most of your idea on paper
If you do this more often, you start to get better and better
