Thank you so much for the compliments and you are very good with a pencil I especially enjoyed looking at the art you made of male bodies since you did a great job! Very photorealistic.

*beaming* Thank you so much! That is exactly my goal, so it makes me very happy to hear that I'm successful in getting closer to it. Β

We seem to have a similar goal In getting better and better. Its funny though.. a few months ago I had one style and suddenly it turned into something else. Its interesting how that happens xD (you can see the contrast between the other portraits and the last 2 ) Im sure the old style is not lost.. but I dunno where this came from xD

Well, our art tends to change and morph with us. Sometimes we really like the changes and other times not as much, but I think we can learn and grow through all of it, and as long as we are enjoying and expressing ourselves and continuing to learn, then it's all good and who knows, a change in style might be a precursor to a big advancement in your art. Take it as it comes and enjoy the journey!Β

yup wasn't complaining. I like both. Its just weird since we never really think about what were doing when were already so used to doing it but than when we try to recreate it suddenly something else comes out in its place and you apparently, as far as you know, were doing the exact same thing xD just something funny I noticed.

Have you ever looked back at a drawing, at a piece of technique that seemed to just flow naturally at the time and wondered "How the hell did I do that?" and more importantly "How on earth am I supposed to do that again?" Hahaha! I've found that with a couple of my pieces. But yes, each piece teaches us something as we go, and sometimes we forget what we've learned, and sometimes we learn it over again, but in a different way, and sometimes the old way comes back to us, and we combine it all in a new and exciting fashion! I'm the crazy person too, who loves to share the bits and blobs of technique that I've figured out along the way, haha. "Oooh, you want to know how I achieved that technique? Well I'll tell you!" Everyone thinks I'm sooo helpful, but really, I'm just putting what I did in writing so I can remember later.
(only kinda joking with that one, haha, I really do have a horrible memory and sometimes talking about the technique will help keep it fresh in my mind.
)

Nah I agree its good to talk about what you did because we often train our bodies to do things automatically and what needs to be done just pops into your head when needed but more as an action that needs to be done in a specific way to achieve what you wanted and less as an instruction book xD so it can be fun talking about this and telling others how it can be done because like you said your just explaining it to yourself as well on the way xD and being like "right.. that's what I do! xD" I don't do this online, for art anyway(for complicated things) cause its hard to explain sometimes without showing.. but when you have a friend and some hours to burn I demonstrate it to them, step by step, and they can do it themselves pretty well afterwards

Yep, actually that's how my mom taught me a lot of things when I was younger, and when I got the chance, I sat down with my niece and passed much of that knowledge on to her. Sadly I don't really have any art friends nearby (they are all online), so I painstakingly try and describe technique whenever possible, haha. Some day I might actual try and take video's, but it'd be soooo boring, since I draw so slow, and most of the progress isn't really noticeable.Β
