Sorry for late reply, not as active on DA anymore. What do you mean by tutoring? I have to ask because in the past I offered critiques on various groups, signed up as a mentor in others and did real life tutoring for a short while.

No no I did used to do tutoring but I had to ask because I did it in places through different DA groups or one on one. I just don't do it right now because I'm too busy but, if you are looking for resources, Proko is a master artist on Youtube with an great video series on learning how to draw!

Yes! My friends and I made it our new home base because we all noticed DA started dying in activity around the same time. I think the way IG is structured just makes it more intuitive for photographers and artists period. Like I have 5k watchers here but maybe a few comments and likes per upload. On IG I only have 130 followers but activity ranges from 30-70 likes (finished pictures get more obviously) and some comments. I think overall the userbase is more active and engaged because you can flip through your activity feed and like/ comment. Where as on DA it's a massive clutter pile that you might sift through once in a while but it feels like a chore to do.

Every time I go on reddit's art and freelance subs people are urging everyone else to get on it lol. A fairly popular artist on DA who has about 100k watchers has 1million followers there instead. Only catch is to be consistently active. You don't need to upload every single day but it lends itself really well to WIP pics, people eat it up there. :0

You have given me hope and motivation to migrate to IG.
I have an excuse to post half finished art/WIPS now.

I already have an account there but I wanted to see how DA would work out for me.
(It's not really working out, lol. Everything is so slow and stale.)

Would IG ideally be a good place to rack up some commission work? I don't see why not.
