It's only the first week and I have a 25% in the class. I got a zero in one assignment because she accused me of 'intentional plagiarism' but her proof of such a thing was absurd. For the second assignment I got a zero in, she said that I 'posed my model wrong' in a lighting assignment and that I need to follow instructions, and it was clear I wasn't paying attention to the lectures.

But there was nothing in the lectures or the assignment instructions saying how to pose a model. It just said how to arrange the lights.

There's a lot of drama surrounding my school that I won't get into right now, hah. As soon as I get my associates degree I"m switching schools to get my BA elsewhere. This school is bull. xD (Warning, stay away from the Art Institutes :I )

What a freaking horrible teacher. Yes, I love your work, and if you can get me on the phone with your so called "teacher", who seems like a total, er, JERK, I will give her a piece of my mind.

I don't know how good/bad the ground schools are, but I would avoid the online classes. Out of the two+ years I've been studying with them, I've only had three teachers I've actually enjoyed. One was a math teacher, and two were for digital editing classes. I can't say that everyone's experience will be miserable, but mine is, as are some people I am talking to from my current class.

I've tried to talk to my academic counselor about my problems in a previous class, and was told I was misinterpreting things that were being said to take it as a personal attack.

I just dropped out of a class because I couldn't stand the teacher, and hope to get someone else when I re-take it later. She didn't know her history, telling me that there were no doctors in the Renaissance, that there were no wars (lolwtf) and that we should appreciate their art, because I told her that plague doctors and the plague in general fascinated me and was a great source of inspiration. I felt like she was belittling me for my interests, especially after she said the plague wasn't even a major part of the Renn. (lolwut...) It wasn't even a history class, but she clearly didn't know her history, and I couldn't get along with her. Most teachers I have been able to grin and bear it, but this semester has been by far the worst.

After I'm out of this school, I am going to EVERY page I can find that does reviews, and leaving a negative review for AIoP.

I want to go to Portland Art Institute, now I'm slowly thinking of dropping that as a school move haha.

You should at least go to the open house and meet some of the teachers. Keep in mind though, that most of the credits are non transferable, so you can't really switch schools in the middle. Like I said, the ground-schools may be better than the online classes. When I went to the ground-school for Open House in Philly, the teachers seemed fine and dandy. I really admired the one teacher - though he wasn't teaching classes in my major QQ - maybe if it is in person, there will be less problems because you can talk face-to-face.

I would try to find someone who goes/has gone to that school and ask how it was. And read a lot of reviews. I went into the school thinking it was one of the best art schools out there...but for the money they charge and all this drama, I KNOW I'd have gotten a better education at the community college. >:
