As some others have said before, I can't believe I finally find the original artist of the Hugzzz picture. This is a testimony coming from Chile, around the year you posted that, over here I was a teenager whose generation was having their first line of phones that were able to store pictures. Everyone had that picture, and I do mean EVERYONE, cause whoever didn't have it, passed it on to the others between classes through their, at the time, brand new gimicky infrared technology.
There were a lot of uncredited edits of it going around too, with different characters and ethnicities. I saw that you were aware of that and didn't approve of it... And I'm super sorry for that.
You probably will never reply to this, maybe you won't read it, but hey, I just wanted to say thank you. You made a whole generation of chilean kids happy with your picture.

I'm so glad I caught your message! I almost never post on dA nowadays nor do I check my notifications, but I had just decided to pop back on to make a huge art dump. Of course, that old Hugzzz drawing looks so amateur and terrible to me now, but I'm glad it made people happy. (And for a while I was indeed annoyed that people were sharing it with no credit; but so much time has passed that it frankly doesn't bother me much anymore, haha.)
Funny thing is I didn't even know that the country it got popular in was Chile. All I know is there were a lot of edits with Spanish comments floating around. Considering I was living all the way on the other side of the world in Taiwan when I drew that, that's pretty crazy!

Your picture isn't bad at all, I think what people loved the most is that it was cute and the characters looked like some kind of plushie.
From what I've seen, it wasn't only Chile, but most of SouthAmerica. Yes, it's quite crazy that you're on the other part of the world!

I can't believe it. I was so convinced I'd never find the artist that drew the original 'hugzzz' that I gave up for years. And just randomly, someone posted it, and the source. And for the first time ever, I saw the unedited version. (To give you an idea how wide spread it's gotten, my cousin in Mexico has it downloaded on his computer as a desktop. And it's been edited by someone else so they look Mexican as well)
It's also thrilling to see that you improved so friggin much. All your art is gorgeous. I'm happy to be a new follower.

Thank you!! Omg haha.... Yeah I didn't really have any idea how much it got passed around. All I knew was every few months my friends would link me to some site or profile that was using it and saying "LOOK THEY'RE RIPPING YOU OFF" and I'd be like "oh, whatever, this happens a lot..."
