Ever heard of the Cathars?
Just in case you that haven't, they were followers of a Christian dualist-slash-Gnostic revival movement from between the 12th and 14th centuries in some parts of Southern Europe.
They believed in the idea of two Gods, one good and one evil. They saw the God of the Old Testament as being the evil creator of the physical world and all physical matter in it, and that matter was therefore tainted with sin. They saw the God of the New Testament as being benevolent and the creator of the spiritual realm. They believed that human spirits were the genderless spirits of angels trapped within the physical creation of the Old Testament God, destined to be reincarnated until they achieved salvation through the consolamentum.
This had conflicted with the Catholic Church, which believed that there was one God who created all things visible and invisible.
Of course, being the period in between the 12th and 14th centuries, the Catholics had the Cathars all but wiped out.

I hold to what the bible says and teaches
The word Christian appears in the bible once and it is in reference to when the disciples were acting like Jesus. so they were given that name. Its an adjective
The same way you would call someone a "professional" or a "noob" or a "homophobe" is cuz i display certain characteristics
You got the wrong God, look at what the bible teaches, if it's inaccurate you'll find a slip up somewhere
I'm calling you to do this because if we evaluate sources outside of what we are gleaning from, we can always find something that is in favor or in opposition to what we believe therefore we must evaluate the evidence we hold on to itself.
The "God: you describe is not the one mentioned in the bible.
and the Catholics you describe are not Christians according to the scriptures
If the leader tells you do one thing and the followers do the opposite, then who's in the wrong, the leader who teaches of turn the other cheek, or a vengeful / brutish believer?
When Jesus was just betrayed by Judas and he called the soldiers to take him away, Peter( his disciple) drew a sword and cut the solider's ear off. Jesus rebuked him and told him not to do that and healed the man's ear
That same Jesus claims to be the same God of the old testament, the same Jesus who healed the blind, fed the hungry and raised the dead

Without going into too much detail. I think you're both wrong in some ways. You first offended Claire by saying that homosexuality is a sin, then she did insult you but you should've read her messages in full to understand what she was saying. I'm technically I'm a Christian (even though I haven't been baptised/christened) and I believe that homosexuality is not a sin. Okay before we continue i need to define some terms
Offence is different than insulting, offence is usually subjective and you can choose to take up offence due to someone's actions. Insults is a clear attempt to purposefully attack someone's character and personality through words
She insulted me but i didn't take any offence, Her offensive words had no effect on me.
I literally quoted scripture to her that spoke against the lifestyle she was defending, i stated my point is all.

the punishment for our sins in order to make us righteous in
His sight so we dont have to face an eternity without Him
The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

If you are a born again believer and you support what the Lord condemns, the Bible calls you and I adulterers and adulteresses
James 4:4-Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
God had no problem in identifying the unfaithful, He even called Israel a prostitute. If you or I support this abominable act as a believer in Christ or any act that is against God, then you should be ashamed of yourself, its wicked in God's sight, its one the sins that sent The Lord Jesus to the cross and your promoting it.
Lastly The bible says that homosexuality is a sin it teaches it clearly

There were gay men (sodomites) who wanted to sleep with the angels God sent to take Lot and his family out to of the city before He destroyed it
After Lot and His family left God destroyed the city, with the liars, thieves, murderers, sodomites, fornicators in all
Repent of your sin, it is not right if you are a believer you're not with God but against Him. Jesus died to save the sinner from that lifestyle dont try to keep them in it thinking its alright because its not. Read the Bible
