Well the gameplay is very similar, yes. Defending and attacking control points and pushing payloads to a goal. And as well as Overwatch every character here has their own pros and cons which can be countered by another character, like the good old rock paper scissors principle. You could say TF2 is the older brother of Overwatch, minus the female characters and only having 9 playable characters but plus swappable equipment (for example different rocket launcher types which beheave differently) AND a ton of hats.
