Haha, thanks! One of these days I'll be more active here. As a full time illustrator in the summer and illustrator/student in the school year I don't get much time to make my own art. . . I guess playing games after work doesn't help either . . . Eh well, soon.

It is true. I'm now a Graduate Assistant working as an Illustrator for A Beka Books. So still no facial hair . . . It is totally worth it though. I thoroughly enjoy this school and working here.

Ah, I see. How big of an island is it, and is the drinking going to be a main event?
If the intended atmosphere for the entire event is something you disapprove of you can politely decline.
If that is only a small part of the event and will not be something pushed around by everyone then you can always hang out on the side line or with those you know wont drink. This option would also depend on your ride back and how your father acts after drinking. If the trip home will be painful (either physically or emotionally) then I'd probably politely decline.
Keep in mind that, quite honestly, I don't know those that you have mentioned, and don't know how they would react to any of this.
