Yeah, I've never been to New Jersey. The farthest I've been up North in the states is to Maryland. I've done a little bit of traveling, but I've never lived anywhere else but Texas. It's not so bad here...the weather is really bipolar though. lol

I noticed that you were speaking Tagalog. You are Filipino right? I've quite a few friends on DeviantART that are. I don't know the entire language but I understand a few words. I've been to Europe and Central America, then to several states in the US. My heritage is Spanish/Italian though.

Just a few words like 'hello' and 'how are you?' Once we exchange greetings then it gets really fuzzy afterward and I have to use translator. lol I was born in Nassau Bay, Texas which isn't too far from where I'm currently living right now. We moved back here after living a decade in Baytown, Texas. Oh gosh, you don't ever want to go there. It's an eyesore! lol! I live close to the Galveston shore by the Gulf of Mexico, but I'm also not too far from Houston either. I've never lived anywhere else but Texas, but I don't mind. My mother's side of the family(Silva) consists of Spanish, Portuguese, and Mexican heritage and my father's side(Selestino) also consists of Spanish, Mexican, and Italian heritage. I have a pretty big family and it's divided up. I keep both last names.

cool, silva is pretty common lastname for latinos. since im a big fan of mixed martials i've seen this name mostly on brazilians lol. us filipinos have silva as lastnames too

Yeah, and it's certainly easier to spell compared to Selestino. I actually new someone where who had Silva as a last name and he was also from the Philippines. He said the same thing. lol So you've in the United States for some time now. Do you miss home? I'm actually kind of curious about the Philippines. I would like to visit one day, since I have so many friends there. I've never been to an actual Deviant Meet, but I've met up with a group of friends at Otakon in Baltimore. Do you go to conventions a lot?

I've always wanted to go to Comic Con. The San Diego Comic Con is outrageous! I've been to three. Two here in Texas and one in Baltimore. They're a lot of fun but I've never sold any artwork there. One day I would like to give it a shot. Yeah, I've seen pictures of Manila. It looks really nice.

it's pretty hard to sell stuff in comic conventions, even the pros can't sell shit. lol. only big names can sell there, but unless you have this outrageous and out of this world, never seen before technique then you would be able to lol. just an observation i had when i was in nycc. lol

Oh no, I doubt I could sell anything at a comic convention like that. lol! I meant like for an anime convention. I suppose I could get away with selling work there(but I honestly don't see my work as 'anime'). I would just enjoy going just to go. I'm not an active...cosplayer? I had a pretty nifty idea for a Poison Ivy get up.

Thanks, the lighting where I was at was really funky. It's naturally red...and curly. (= 3 = );; lol. My friends in secondary school use to call me 'noodles' because of how curly it is(oh and...I really love pasta/noodles anything.) so I mashed my first name with my nickname. People still call me 'noodles' and I'm 22 now. Oh well, it just stuck.

Aw, well that's cool. I live with my family still. I've had to put school aside for a little while in order to help my mother, but I'm hoping to go back soon. I (with my family being separated)five younger sisters and a younger brother. One baby niece and another one on the way.

I did work before but due to some of the hardships here at home I had to quit my job. I was working part time as a cashier while going to school. I can't really get a job right now because I watch my niece all day. Originally I was going to school for nursing, but I've considered going back for art education or graphic design. As for freelancing, I posted a journal that I was available for commission work. I had a few who were interested (mostly on Tumblr) but I have a feeling my prices are just too expensive for here. I may lower them.

i see definitely graphic design is worth it. same issue here, i've always had problems losing my client cos of price. out of 30 people coming to me, only 12 projects pushed through, hahah just a rough estimate. so yeah it is a hard profession. that's why i try to improve with every piece so that the quality of work is worth the price

Yeah, I hear you. I'm not hurting for cash because I don't have a job. Usually if I need something my mother is willing to help out since I watch the baby. I'm just focusing on the comic idea I would like to do and just drawing for myself. I've been thinking about it for some time. I love taking care of people and I had wanted to serve in the Navy, but I decided to just go to school first so I could become an officer. I've always sort of worried that if I pursued a profession in art that I won't like it the same you know? Chances are I will probably be happier, and less math. Hate math...lol.
