Thanks. Actually, taking place about 1000 years in the future, I decided to add an interesting twist to the backstory. Many countries no longer exist, the US included. Instead, among the continents, there exists 3 or 4 empires total which span across the globe. The story takes place in North America, yes, but now all of America has been united under the flag of The Federation, the name for the new empire. There are other empires, but many hold similar ideals in regards to furries. They're persecuted less because they're different, and more because they posed a threat to over-population. At least that's how it started out...
