Hello there! I’m running a group called Literature-Critique and wonderin’ of you’re interested in joining? The goal I strive to achieve with this group is to give the best critique possible for stories/poems submitted. Each story or poem that is submitted to the group will not be accepted until a critique has been created. Once you see your story accepted, there should be a critique from one of our admins in ways to improve your story, or if there’s nothing to improve - how great it is, (which would be rare mostly because everyone has room to grow and improve).
Right now we are looking for admins to critique and spread the word of our group. If you are excellent at grammar and love to read, then volunteer for an admin position. If you want to improve your story or to just get feedback, them become a member and submit your work.
We do not flame, but we do give constructive criticism. If you don’t like to hear anything negative, (just ways to improve grammar or the flow of your story), then this group is not for you.

A couple of things to note when offering up these positions. I recently started a group myself so my comments come from a good place and not a desire to stir up drama or troll you or anything of the sort. I would ensure that every comment I made regarding a group based on critiquing literature was near grammatical perfection. If the goal of the group you are leading is to help push other writers to better themselves in regard to their craft, you should have a command of the craft yourself. The other portion I would note is that it doesn't help at all when you make little to no effort to get to know the person you are requesting to become an admin before offering them such a prestigious rank. I admit that it is possible you went through my work and made a determination that I qualified before you offered the role, but without a comment or hint of your interest in my abilities as a writer I am left to assume you simply pulled every author of a recent DD and tried to craft the group from those that joined. It doesn't sit well with me as if the goal is to form a community, it should be built on the foundation of interaction and common goals and initiatives, not on the presumption of talent because of what one moderator chose to do with their power. I don't mean to knock DDs as I already have done so well beyond my own well being, but I do find that basing your analysis on one subjective piece does limit the overall scope you have of an individual. I would be more inclined to join the group if these criteria had been shown as parts of the initial building blocks, but upon reviewing your gallery I find nothing outside of fanfics. I do not personally have an issue with the genre other than if you are truly aspiring to any level of professionalism within the craft fanfic is hardly the most industrious route to take. I see fanfic as more of a springboard to more individual styles of writing and would hope to see much more than fan fiction in the gallery of one hoping to improve other authors who may not be writing from the same stand point. Just some insight I had while reading over your offer and taking a look at your group. Best of luck.

One thing you need to understand - I did not, in the least, in any way, look at any of your work. When we have requests for admin positions we put them through vigorous tests to see their capabilities of critiquing work. I do not appreciate the assumption you have made about the group we've created, and in what you have wrote completely contradicted the point you were trying to convey. You say that we didn't make little to no effort to get to know the person before we requested for them to become an admin, and yet you didn't take any effort at all to understand what we are about or even attempted to get to know what the group was actually about. You only assumed. And I don't have any of my literature on this account, so where you got that information is beyond me.
Also, I wasn't actually recruiting you since I used the magic word, "volunteer" not, "I think you are a great candidate because I looked at all of your stuff and think you are awesome". I gave you both options and didn't offer to position directly.
Don't make assumptions before you get all the information.

I don't see how stating that you didn't look at any of my work detours my point at any juncture. In fact, you are making my point for me. I am curious as to your rigorous testing though if only because yet again you display little to no command of the English language you seek so desperately to critique. That sentence is poorly constructed and holds no meaning after the comma. It is errors like this that make me turn away from a critiquing community, especially when they are committed by the founder. To further press this point, I will quote you again, "didn't make little to no effort", "take any effort at all to understand what we are about or even attempted". These are not small errors, but rather errors that destroy your entire argument and do little to convey a message that is reasonable or rational. The information I got is from your account, "I write fan fiction to improve my writing. Plot in my fan fiction stories are not a factor when I write them." I believe you wanted "Plots" and not "Plot" unless you wanted "is" and not "are". Just a friendly critique. Whether or not you were looking for me to admin, which I maintain that you were since you edged that direction at all, is besides the point I am making in regard to the hilarity I find in someone attempting to form a critiquing group when they cannot even proof their own comments. I didn't act on a single assumption and your arguments are not only baseless, but also incredibly poorly communicated. I appreciate your time, but without the ability to see where you can improve, you will never be able to help someone else improve. Good day.

I guess this is what I get when trying to read/type on a cell phone. When reading your first comment, I misread and interpreted what you were trying to say wrongly. I wasn't offering you any position... in fact, that little message I sent you was something I sent to others as well, not just you. I didn't even take a glance at anything you've ever written on this account.
Also, even though English is the number one language, and since I sent that message in English, it's completely understandable why you assumed this little group was only a critiquing group for the English language when in fact we critique in multiple languages, (mostly because my native language is Russian). I'm not the one who critiques the English language since English was the third language I've learned while growing up.
