Very good question! In all honesty, I've kept a lid on that story because it was for a Kickstarter anthology that I haven't heard any further info on for like 4 months, so I'll be printing it myself. The 24 page book will, hopefully, be printed by today and I'll have them for sale this weekend at FLUKE in Athens, Georgia. If you'd like to snag a copy send me a note or email me at jorge@jorgesantiagojr.com.

Thanks for showing interest! I need to be better about pimping my books

Hey guy, I wanted to ask if you still use Deleter paper because it looks like that akadot site is still out. Know where I can get it? I wanna finish MSTV while I'm still young, haha. Hope you're doing great. Ttul.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to ashes2steel [2012-09-18 23:38:11 +0000 UTC]

No I use different paper now, since I'm doing pages 11x17 now I have to buy paper that size. I think Jetpens.com has deleter paper if you want it, although you could probably just buy cardstock and just rule out your grid lines or print them on there

ashes2steel In reply to JorgeSantiagoJr [2012-09-19 06:54:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh ok. I got a big tabloid sized bristol pad that has guides on it too, but i don't have a big enough scanner to do anything serious with it lol XD but ok I'll check it out. thanks for letting me know

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to ashes2steel [2012-09-19 11:15:52 +0000 UTC]

Oh that stuff is crap, the paper quality is pretty bad. I actually got an 11x17 printer scanner for 200 bux from office depot that's alright. It's no Epson but its a fraction of the price and it works. but I would avoid using that Strathmore 200. Go for a smooth bristol if you're still inking with microns and stuff.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ashes2steel In reply to JorgeSantiagoJr [2012-09-20 06:27:38 +0000 UTC]

I'll keep an eye out for one of those. Yeah, it's been a while since I've used microns - been mostly digitally inking my stuff just because I don't wanna mess up the original, but I'll be doing some micron stuff soon.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to ashes2steel [2012-09-21 03:03:50 +0000 UTC]

If you're digitally inking then why bother getting Deleter paper? You could draw on anything so long as you rule out your lines yourself

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ashes2steel In reply to JorgeSantiagoJr [2012-09-21 06:18:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm really clumsy with digital inking still. It looks fine for finished color pieces, but when it comes to hatching and stuff, I don't have any good brushes and trying to hand-hatch it on a tablet is crazy time consuming and aggravating. I'd rather hand-ink my comic pages, and although I have a page already scanned and I could print out copies, the guides don't disappear as easy as with regular Deleter. I've still got a pack or two, I dunno. Maybe I'll figure something out before my supply goes dry.

JorgeSantiagoJr In reply to ashes2steel [2012-09-21 13:03:25 +0000 UTC]

IF digital inking is where you wanna go then try out Manga Studio. The program has a really good taper and since its Japanese it can sort of replicate the feel of the G pen and maru pen.

I am working on a special issue of my magazine, Surreal Grotesque, which will be about the best web comics or independent comic artists/companies that people haven’t heard of. I want to help spread the word and promote artists. I would just need a bio from you, your info about your comic and 5-7 pages of the actual comic. It will be a special digital issue of the magazine. If you would like to be a part of this project, let me know: dangrn77@hotmail.com, just put Surreal Grotesque #0 as the subject. You can check out my website here: www.surrealgrotesque.com.
