Things on my end have also been pretty rough admittedly, but I've managed to find some good hobbies to help with the struggles! I managed to get into a lot of 18th century reenactment stuff 
Glad to know you're holding up alright! If you ever need someone to talk to I'll listen! I know my activity hasn't been the best these days, but I'd like to try and become a bit more consistant than I have been. u_uĀ

Well I do a lot of reenactment stuff! I help give tours at an 18th century house, I participate in 18th century revolutionary war battle events and parades, and I do 18th century dancing

Currently, I've been taking a series of animation classes taught by Don Bluth.

Pretty good. It's pretty expensive, but I think it's been worth it so far. I've been creating stuff for a portfolio, Don is giving his input in a live class every Tuesday night, and I've been getting feedback from fellow students over Discord as well.

Ahhh don't say that, I never saw it that way! But I'm glad that you've continued to draw and have made improvements! That always feels accomplishing! I really want to get back into drawing more frequently. I do it here and there, but not enough to notice significant improvements. Here and there I may be able to pull off a drawing where I improve at something though, which feels nice and probably means that my brain is ready to try and learn new things somewhere. It can feel so daunting to learn new things though. Just have to remember that everyone starts at the beginning with anything that they try.Ā

I honestly never thought I could improve my art all those years ago. Until one show made my reconsider.....Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.
After Daniel had his baby sister Margaret introduced, I grew a personal connection to the show that I never thought would be possible. After losing my Grandma (my dad's side) back in 2014, Margarets birth was sort of a remembering of my grandma since she was named after Daniel's great grandma Margaret, to which his father said "I had a Grandma Margaret who was very special to me" That felt very personal and I felt an even deeper connection between the love of Daniel and his sister that I wanted to represent it in my artwork, but in order to do it, I had to improve my art.

I love when shows can be inspiring like that *u* I used to watch Mr. Roger's Neighborhood when I was younger, it was a great show. It's nice that they created a piece of media to honor the original.Ā
It's nice to be able to have an inspiring connection like that though! Sometimes we need outside things to help us push for improvement. That's what I've been trying to do as well.

How about you, what influenced you in your art endeavor?

Oh man, so many things... I was always inspired by things I'd watch, or games I'd play... The thing that got me to start drawing consistantly though? Tom and Jerry, I loved that cartoon, and I wanted to try and replicate the style of the characters. That was back when I was around 9 or 10 I think? After that I drew so much and would draw for just about anything I got into. It makes me sad sometimes when I look at how much I've slown down with art due to high levels of anxiety and depression. I became a perfectionist and would grow frustrated when I couldn't get things to look right in my drawings. Practicing would frustrate me because I knew it would take a long time before I saw improvements. I want to overcome my art fears though... I want to have fun with it again rather than being afraid I'll get made fun of because of my art.Ā

We all feel embarrassed of our old works, I know I do. I feel I've improved a bit since those times. I'd like to improve even further. Perhaps one of these days I'll put up my more recent things.Ā
