To be honest, I didnt even know what SCP was until after I launched Contaminant. There's Some pretty interesting stories and ideas in it. However Contaminant is more about humanity being the architect of it's own destruction, and the mutants are nature's retribution. Very similar to Godzilla in that regard.

The monsters were created accidentally via careless dumping of Nebranium waste in various parts around the globe, primarily the US.

Corporations and governments who wish to make a profit off Nebranium and it's promise of unlimited energy are somewhat aware of the link between it and the monsters, but choose to deliberately ignore or flat out deny any link to keep profiting off the mining, refinement and use of Nebranium as an energy source.
