Here in Texas, it's a little more frequent. Granted, it depends on the situation (for example, a bull goring someone in some backwoods town in the Hill Country wouldn't make news as easily as a bull goring someone in downtown Houston), but we're a bit desensitized toward it.

Yeah you have a point there. It's kind of like some drive-by shooting in St. Paul or Minneapolis in Minnesota (I live almost right on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota). Those happen a lot and people really could care less now since it happens almost everyday.
