Well, "here" specifically a little less than elsewhere, what with all my lack of free time these days, but the game and its modding itself, yes, very much, always has been and still is. I'm one of the lesser active authors, actually, if that makes for a comparison. The others and their pages are leagues more "alive" and active than me and mine.Β Β
But this game and its modding community have given me so much fun and joy, I'll definitely keep modding it, no matter what.Β Β

Well at-least you're doing something. I am also doing something, a race mod and and nearly deciding to make a world space mod too. You might not be around a-lot but at-least you're trying harder. I can't even make my own models.
Maybe when my mod get a release and get's acceptable I might get you or somebody else to help spicing it up in later versions.

Good that the game is alive. Cause of modding and those fun NPCs.

Thanks for the llama

I knew a llama once. At least I thought I knew him. I mean, how well can anyone really know anyone, much less a llama. With their air of mystery and thinly veiled contempt. It’s hard. But I digress.

His name was Kevin. But for reasons I will never understand, he would only ever answer to Albert. Identity issues aside, things started out okay. The usual introductory sniffing and sneezing went well, despite his allergies, but then things started going downhill during the ritual licking phase of the pleasantries. We pushed through. And had it not been for the spitting, we might have even been able to make it work, but alas, after just 3 seconds of bittersweet brotherhood, we finally decided to part ways. It’s kind of sad, when you think about it. Spitting seems like such an innocent thing to fight over, but he was pretty adamant that I should stop and that was just never going to happen. We might have overcome that issue, but Kevin, like all llamas, was very competitive. First came the stench competitions. Then it was belching contests. And lastly, a painstaking count to see which one was hairier. You can clearly see why our relationship was doomed. The poor fellow was a bit of a sore loser.

So he snuck out, taking with him a failed friendship, an obliviously optimistic dread of the future, and my sixth favorite toothbrush. Now that he is gone, I can honestly say, it's for the best. He was too much of a chick magnet anyway and who needs that drama?

Full disclaimer, as Kevin’s official biographer, a position of which he blackmailed me into (don’t ask), I’ve been instructed to inform you about his ongoing series. The journey starts here withΒ  The Kevin Chronicles - Chapter 1, andΒ  this galleryΒ contains the rest. You should check it out.

*End of cue card*

And don't worry, they're pretty short.

No pressure though, only if you want.

Thank you! It's the least I can do.
Well, here in Germany it isn't only close, as the 24th is Christmas Eve. But I know Christmas is only at the 25th in other countries. We're getting our presents in the evening before the night, you at the morning thereafter, if I'm not mistaken... But it's only names anyways.

Aww, you didn't have to. But if you say you do, I'll be waiting patiently in anticipation.Β Β
But the holidays are for celebration and relaxing. Take care you don't sweat it, just because of me!

I'll be off on a family visit to Rodgau near Offenbach/Frankfurt in Hessen tomorrow, and I won't be back before next year. But I'll be taking my MacBook with me, hopefully I'll find some time for my hobbies as well, and I'll be definitely keeping an eye out now.

Merry Christmas and Happy Seasons to you. I hope you'll have a great and pleasant time!

My pleasure.Β  I've known about you for a long time but I haven't been keeping a very close track of what you're up to.Β  I considered finally playing Oblivion a little while ago though and if I do I need at least the Argonians to have great reptilian bodies.Β  You're the voice to follow if I ever want to get that satisfactory, so I'll start keeping an eye on you.Β  You're admirably passionate.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DrakeTheDragon-1980 In reply to Voldearag [2017-09-06 17:57:18 +0000 UTC]

My, that's too much of the praise. My own works have in my absence become far outdated and been replaced by way better ones. Granted, there's like none introducing custom Argonian body parts yet like mine do, but that's only because of a general lack of interest in this particular niche topic.

Good news is, at least, most of the recent releases introducing new skin textures, racial traits and the like for Argonians are in no way inherently incompatible with my custom body parts. It could be their textures might need some tweaking to make them better wrap around and cover the Argonian feet... but then again, the current feet models aren't exactly the "perfect" match either anyways. I've seen pictures of concept art with a way different design for Argonians' feet than what I used for my first approach those years ago in the past, but it was a start.

But the biggest complaint is my seemingly never-ending lack of free time these days, preventing me from making any progress at all with any of my mods. There's like so much to do, yet no time at all to do it.

If just my being passionate would help some in being more active as well still.Β

Sorry to hear you still don't have much time for yourself.Β  Yes, I believe you were doing something that nobody else has by combining all the best Argonian mods together into a workable and great looking setup.Β  The jdayT Argonian feet already suit me perfectly, I appreciate how naturally adapted they look, neither bland nor showy.Β  Rather than someone's personal idea of perfect they look like they just happened to work, and I just happened to like them.Β  But maybe anything can be better.Β
I'm mostly following Skyrim modding, although I want beautiful beasts in Oblivion too.Β  There are plenty of awesome foot designs on paper, you have lots of them in your favorites, but the 3D modeled content seems to still not have much variety yet, as least in the modding community.

Hey, there's no need to. It's no biggie. Like I said, it's only, now 1, more day to go, just a little early. And then, certain people can't even congratulate me at the day of the family festivities, so all is well.

Saw you talking of a dA gallery in your comments and just had to go for it. I'm trying to "connect" with many Oblivion authors I can find here on dA as well, so I'm always up-to-date about their latest progress updates and stuff, but especially authors the work of whom I'm personally interested in myself, like your's. Β

I'm missing out on so many developments lately due to my crowded schedule with work, any way to not miss out on more is a must in my book.

I'm glad you like my work, too, although it's just to the interest of a niche group at most. Sadly I'm not making much, if any, progress ever since the last 6 years now... but lately things actually started loosening up some at least for a while. I try stealing some minimum amount of free time away from work whenever I can, and as long as I'm not making any "plans" but using the opportunity of the moment whenever it comes instead, I'm actually able to get one or more things done at a couple times.

It's not a solution by far, because without actually planning nothing really fruitful ever comes of it... but it's at least "something" to keep me from going crazy these days.Β Β
I, too, hope there'll be more to see here soon.

Sifonseal In reply to DrakeTheDragon-1980 [2016-12-18 02:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Sorry again for the delayed replies, as you can imagine things get busy around this time of year and I kept putting off taking the time to respond and suddenly a week had passed >.<.

I should look around and try to find more people here as well.

Hopefully your work schedule continues to eases up in the future ^^.

A niche group though it may be, I feel it is quite a large one as far as niche groups go, the prospect of gliding through the air as a dragonic race would get anyone one at the least interested in checking it out ^^.
To be honest the 6 years of delays in some way is also reassuring, it shows that you really do want to have this project finished and are truly passionate about it as you have stuck with it so long rather than simply discarding the whole idea when times made working on the project impossible.Β
If nothing else I can say on behalf of that niche group that we are all very exited to get whatever new of you progress whenever you are able to send it our way ^^.

Huge fan of your work. Do you plan on adding Khajiit paws or argonian feet that looks like the ones in your dragon race?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DrakeTheDragon-1980 In reply to Syrenlin [2016-10-20 12:53:01 +0000 UTC]

Glad you like it, thank you!

Khajiit paws weren't exactly on my to-do list, but I'm already working on a new approach for my scripting, a framework, completely configurable and dynamic, for use with just about every race with unique body parts you have in mind. For Khajiit paws there's actually already this resource pack, Khajiit Anatomical Transformation System (KATS) www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mod… and I set up my new approach to use the same folder structure this one does. So when I'm done people can choose which scripting approach they prefer to use, mine or True Body Shapes like this one, and the actual resources will work with both. So, get KATS, don't use TBS, use mine instead, done. It's just taking some longer than intended for me to get it done.

As for the Argonian Feet, I was already planning to do my own new models at one point way back in the past, but as with everything I use the P-word with, nothing ever came of it so far. It won't exactly look like my dragon feet though. Last time I checked Argonian Feet had three toes not five, and looked marginally different than my dragons'. But we'll see about that later on again perhaps. There's nothing holding people back from using my dragon feet models for their Argonians in the mean time though, for they're skin-textured so they will work with every race.

Syrenlin In reply to DrakeTheDragon-1980 [2016-10-20 15:42:49 +0000 UTC]

I didn't even know about KATS, thanks for the link! I have no idea how to use the construction set, so this stuff is out of my league.Β

DrakeTheDragon-1980 In reply to Syrenlin [2016-10-20 16:53:32 +0000 UTC]

I didn't either, when I first started modding the game, but I learned a lot over the years and fast by reading it up and asking around.

The CS is for authors, mere users aren't required to make any use of it. And if one wanted to exchange the Argonian Feet with my dragons', it'd only mean switching out NIF files, no plugin editing, no scripting, nothing else, just the basic copy, paste, rename, replace mumbo jumbo inside Windows Explorer. Though I do understand I might have to provide some further instructions on what exactly to do in order to do that when it comes to it. People like step-by-step hand-holding them through, and I'm the last one to deny it when I'm asked... and my time allows for it, of course.Β Β
