Lol..looked at your work...take away your electronic crutches... and just how good are you.?

Actually I dont care....traditional art will always get the recognition it deserves....yours will just flood itself out as everyone...and I mean everyone...finds that with a few hours practise..they can get almost instant fantastically detailed art...you will die swallowing your own tail..

Daicelf In reply to Aurora9912 [2013-07-28 10:15:57 +0000 UTC]

No but I will google them.

These are inspired by Terry Pratchett's the "Thief of Time"..The idea of 5 horsemen instead of 4...the 5th one leaving the band before it became famous to become a milkman ..Lol..parodying the Beatles' history.

No prob! You're pictures are simply too good. Can't believe you're doing this traditionally.

Daicelf In reply to Nenjia [2013-04-16 19:41:38 +0000 UTC]

I'm rebelling against the "Photoshop" junkies . One I encountered a while back professed various university Design qualifications and "professional" status on her DA page and website..but made the mistake of putting up one of her original drawings. God! it was so awful it looked like a 6 year old child had drawn it..I realised she had absolutely no drawing skills of her own at all...

Just borrowing other peoples images ...manipulating them etc... in Photoshop ...and then calling it original work...is something that makes me angry. I believe fervently in being able to draw "freehand".. not cutting and pasting others artists work...scribbling on them ..and then saying "Oooh look how clever I am!. Lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Nenjia In reply to Daicelf [2013-04-17 18:31:14 +0000 UTC]

Good! I agree with you. I love drawing freehand. But when I scan it, it looks aweful. So I use Photoshop some times to light up the colours, because my awful camera is simply to bad to photograph. But you're right: There's a great difference between doing somthing freehand and paint it with those computerprograms.

You're extremly talanted! I love you're rabbits so much. Which colours do you use for this? (Acryl, aquqrell...?) I love painting with acryl!

I tend to prefer drawing with pens.ballpoints and whenever I go into stationers I always come away with a bag full of them..not all of them are useful..but i give them a try anyway. If I find one I like for any reason..I usually go back and buy a box full of them.

I have recently bought a large flat storage box with lid which I have almost filled to the brim with these pens..lol.

When I paint I prefer gouache watercolour as I like the way that its thickness and density allows me to overpaint detail without the underpaint bleeding through..its great for adding highlight detail and tidying up edges and of course , correcting mistakes...I make quite a lot of them usually from impatience and trying out ideas directly on a piece in progress..rather than find a scrap of paper and experimenting first..a lot of details in my work are actually mistakes being overworked repeatedly...

Its reached a stage now where if a piece "works" first time without me having to correct it then I feel worried that it is not "right" in some way...or I have missed something crucial...
