It's a beautiful piece of work. Lovely blue gown as well, matches the underbust very nicely.

I just checked out your new[ish] website, and I think it looks fabulous. One thing though: some of the frames and tables you're using don't load up properly/they cut off the ends of the captions, or sides of the photos.

Janes-Wardrobe In reply to Celenai [2007-11-22 21:09:49 +0000 UTC]
Thanks for that - I thought everything was fine with the pics but I haven't checked them all. I did know about the captions - I'd forgotten about that though - thanks - I need to go back and shorten the captions so they fit - I didn't realise they would be shortened - I mistakenly assumed if I could type it - it would show! - Still a bit of a beginner with this website thing!
I'll scroll through all the photo's and see if it's a size issue and reload images a size so they don't crop.

If you want I'll go through your site and give you a detailed breakdown of everything on each page. What kind of coding are you using/what website template are you using? I'm a bit of a geek and taught myself a bunch of computer languages, so I'm curious.

That's a really nice offer
Oh I wish I was using something good - my host is Brinkster and it's the free website builder that comes with their package - it says 'CM4all' at the top of the page.
It's not brilliant and I'm using no coding whatsoever. It's incredibly limiting, I can't even centre pictures/text - there are no justification options. Basically I used it to make sure I wasn't paying for webhosting and then not having a site on line at all.
I would love to have some software that I could properly build my website - I have so many ideas and that means pages and pages of stuff with lots of photographs - probably thumbnails that open proper sized images. The big problem is I can no longer afford to pay a web designer and even if I could pay for some basic design I'm the sort of person that would want to update so regularly whatever is used I need to be able to do it myself.
I have a pretty good computing background, I've built databases from scratch and with a little bit of help I could probably get my head round HTML and CSS (I managed after reading a couple of DA tutorials to do my journal!) - so I feel confident that I could build a webite with the right software. I just don't have money to spend on something that might not do what I want or that might have problems uploading to my host. (I have a friend who had problems uploading Frontpage to her host - I don't know who that was though.)
Any help is very welcome

I could post you the whole of Adobe Master Collection: Creative Suite 3, which has everything you need. Dreamweaver to write up coding; Contribute to update it; Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop to help you fiddle around with the photos [some of the cyan blue backgrounds don't really compliment the colours of the actual costumes].
Think of it as a Christmas present.
-Zan
