Nice! When I was learning, I learned the most via YouTube and a site which I can't remember anymore, it was like koreanclass101.com or something like that. It was free to learn but there's a lot I didn't learn so I'm stuck at my current level to where I can read it well and understand a bit but when it comes to being able to form sentences and carry a conversation, I'm at kindergarten level.
For the first time ever I saw a Korean person in my city, I had been such a fan of the country and culture for so many years but had never seen any Korean people in my neighborhood so when I saw him and his sons my sister and I looked at each other then looked at him, after we were back in our car we were like "it's a celebrityyyyyyyy" lol.

Lol I know the feeling on the kdramas! I stopped watching, though. It was taking up entirely too much of my life. I was an addict, and that's putting it mildly
But I agree 100%, between kdramas and kpop they make it seem like everyone is so pretty and flawless-looking so when I started watching some of the reality shows with my sister I was a bit shocked at first. I hope you get to see the 4 palaces! It sounds like it will be an exciting trip!
