No problem! Enjoyed your stuff on ff.net so decided I had to keep track, and also saw you were a fellow pagan!Β

Lolol really? Ah thank you! Yup! I'm a Pagan! I found it tough at first, as I was surrendered by Christians on ffn who didn't like that too much, but it's been years now and no one seems to mind any more. Yay! So you're a pagan too huh? Well, you're the third pagan I have ever met all my life! Congrats! This is awesome! (I hope I didn't get it wrong in assuming you are a pagan too, lol) And you live in the UK! Omg!! You do need closer watching I think! Β

I am indeed a pagan There's a medieval fair every year near where I live and you can tell it's full of pagans, wiccans etc, so in the flesh I've met quite a few but not any real contact :L that makes me sound stalkerish? Erm...yeh. HA. The only people who don't like it are those who don't understand it, though from what I can gather it's a lot more widely accepted nowadays even have a proper wiccan shop in a nearby town! Another thing I noticed we have in common is looking at things from a scientific perspective, hence why I particularly enjoyed your Sonic Theory 2 piece as I had already come up with an (admittedly less detailed) version of the same thing in my head, though nowhere near as researched! Really enjoyed that

No way!! Dude, I feel like I am the only Pagan in the village! I do occasionally see people wearing the pentacle on their neck (very rarely) but as I am serving customers and in the public eye, I am always too nervous to ask them anything. But it does fill me with pride that there are some out there - I just have to look. We have no medieval fair near me, sadly. One might pop up, but sod's law it'll be on a day I am working because I always work weekends.

'''The only people who don't like it are those who don't understand it, though from what I can gather it's a lot more widely accepted nowadays ''''

You can say that again. And people don't like what they don't understand, and they automatically shun it - yet they are hypocrites. Most people like the Egyptians and the Norse vikings, but at the end of the day they are both Pagan.

Aww, thanks sooo much for enjoying my Sonic Theory! Hahaha, I can't sleep until I've dissected that poor hedgehog! And I kinda went on a rant too because people just couldn't understand the fundamentals of Sonic's eating habits. I know he's a cartoon, but I like to think he is real - in my heart. That's how the magic happens. Β

I have to buy all my wiccan products from carboot sales or ebay!!

Blue-Fires In reply to Urabu [2014-03-05 16:33:13 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeh because it's rare to see them it makes it a nicer occurrence. I sometimes take them wearing the pentacle with a touch of salt, as I first heard of paganism through a girl who I can assure you did it all purely for show and probably had no real beliefs or understanding whatsoever. I hear Wicca in particular is kind of a teen "fad" in some places. There's also the risk of people wearing it believing it to be a Satanistic symbol, and therefor wanting to look cool. Man, I really hate being such a cynic haha. I would recommend www.pagan-magic.co.uk/ . It's a UK family based business which sells everything a pagan could need.
HA too true. As well as taking an interest in the primitive, pagan-esque histories of other cultures and yet shunning their own, people are also prone to all sorts of amusing hypocrisies, for instance hanging holly and mistletoe in the home at Christmas is based entirely on pagan beliefs and traditions, yet used to celebrate a Christian holiday.

It definitely made for interesting reading. One of the things that always bugged me about Sonic was his shoes. (Warning: Scientific nerd rant ahead) Why would nature design a creature with every feature it needs to run at speeds exceeding 300mph (supposedly) EXCEPT feet designed to handle the heat, stress and friction?!! That's like evolution creating the most perfectly designed hawk, but not giving it any feathers so the damn thing can't even fly. That just always seemed like kind of a facepalm thing for me lol. As un-cute as it would look I always thought he would have bipedalΒ digitigrade style legs (the ankle relieving some of the stress of constant running off the knee) with non-retractable claws for grip, like those of the cheetah. I also considered a transparent 3rd eyelid to shield from wind force and debris when running at speed (many marine animals such as crocodiles possess third eyelids to protect their eyes in the water). I mean, it doesn't sound pretty, but it's better than running on bleeding feet with flies blinding you eh? Lmao
