Yeah, I've been trying to get back to it. Honestly it's good to hear from you. So I try to reply quickly.

It's not been easy, that's for sure. Been struggling with depression and other mental health issues. Just gotten worse over the years. Now I'm struggling with physical pain to, as well as financially unstable. It's been hard, but I'm doing my best to manage.

Quick question, I'm a bit confused. Is the antagonist my character or inspired from him?
Either way he's awesome! I love Xel! I started reading your XIII 2 comic right away. 😁

Nah, it's not a hassle at all. Just means I need to pay attention to my phone alerts. 😄
I'm glad that I'm able to bring you joy, it's good to be back in contact. I've been wanting to return to Deviantart for a long while now. Been struggling with my passion for art and my confidence has been lacking for to long. 😔
As for the other stuff, I've been seeking out help. For both mental and physical. Talk therapy doesn't seem to really work but I'm trying it. Probably haven't given it time yet. Physical pain will always be there. Just the nature of getting older and having good injuries contribute to it. All I can do is take pain medication and hope for the best.

Xel fits more then the name I called cyber Axel. It does sound less human and more fitting of a cyber.
I'm fond on that idea for his hair. It's funny when I originally designing Axel-118 I was going to make his hair black with green eyes. But then I changed it to brown to fit more closely with my own physical look. It's ironic to, my hair is brown but looks black. So I made Axel's hair a dark brown almost black. 😅
I'll be honest not fond of the marine background, however when you bring up the time travel and infinit versions it does make perfect sense. I do enjoy the plot of the meek marine becoming a Spartan killer to over come his own "demons" as it were.
If you'd like I can try to explain the best I can of Axel-118's backstory if you'd ever like to use that time version of him.
He has encountered a Gravemind in his story though and the flood. Axel finds them a decent challenge for him to fight.
You were almost spot on with how others treated him, with the names and the emotions of his past. It was a life changing experience in his past that made him the ghost or monster that everyone knows him for. It's a very important part of his past. The trigger was he lost his best friend and first one he ever loved in the Spartan cadet training. A nasty scientist murdered Kate-119 in front of the cadets that tried to escape from the program, he made in example of her to frighten the cadets. But for Axel it changed him into the dark heartless raging ghost that he known for.

Please if you'd like to use Spartan Axel for a later scene I'd be more than happy to help anyway I can. 😄

I wish there was something I could do to help you I don't like seeing my friends suffer.

As for including Axel as a Spartan, XIII 2 will be a little..... Different.
It has multiple endings (7 I think) based on the choices of the readers.
For example, certain choices will get everyone killed, while other choices could get them back home.
Among the endings, history is rewritten, so within that rewritten history, that's when Axel becomes a Spartan instead of a marine.
Like alternate timelines.
