It's really cool. It gives off a good vibe even if the dude can't see.

I would have tried to give you a critique but I'm not all that knowledgable about photography so...I might not have done that well.

Aaah, well, thank you for the thought anyways, and for the favorite. Appreciated! (:

Like someone else already said, I really wonder how you were able to persuade a model to wrap her head and face in a bandage like that. It's such a waste hiding a beautiful woman's face like this! But the photo is great anyway, congrats on the DD!
You should photo her naked next time...

how do you know underneath that bandage there isn't something hideous and deformed?
although, i do agree completely...

Zemni In reply to TheFlamingUnicorn [2010-04-10 10:16:25 +0000 UTC]
Hahah.. The comment you replied to belongs to a friend who knows me in real life, and the person behind the bandage is me - who's a male. She knew that when she commented, making fun of an earlier comment here. But, perhaps she DOES find me hideous and deformed, who knows, haha
Now shoo, go find naked women elsewhere, you wont find much female skin in my gallery And thanks for the laugh! (:

oh whoops lol. i thought she was being serious, and felt a bit put-out at how instantaneously all women worth being photographed must be beautiful /rant. but i guess i was wrong o: no naked women? in the gallery of a male photographer on dA? how wondefully refreshing. here's a llama for being different.

It is beautiful, the concept- the mood, the tone. So emotional, yet hidden. It reminds me of the works of Magritte. Wonderful.

Great job!
I've portrayed myself with bandages around my head in some of my works, maybe you want to take a look?

To the artist; This is indeed a wonderful piece. The lighting is exquisite. The detail captured in the fabric is very impressive. I really love that although the mouth of the model is uncovered, it's almost invisible. It is really great work.
To the admin; Forgive me, but how many times are we going to see a DD involving a woman with her head wrapped in a bandage? I agree this piece is exceptional, but seriously, I see one at least once a month.

And, it's not a woman this time (no worries though)

Haha, I stand corrected. I'm grateful for your sense of humor. And for the record, I have more than one gauze-faced lady in my own gallery.
Take care,

I was just going to say that this image is rather cliche. The composition of the photo is exceptional, but there are too many of these sorts of photos floating around.

Even as the artist behind this particular image I see your point. I believe a lot of people have used the same thing, but often based on Silent Hill or other fictional visual works, if you're familiar with it (even a few comments here have been "reminds me of SH" - which wasn't my intention). It's difficult being entirely unique, but to me this has a deeper personal meaning than "hey, this is cool, I'll photograph this!". I'm not sure what I'm trying to say - I am not being defensive or anything, because I'm very much aware that it's been done. But then, how many people photograph flowers?
Thank you for complimenting the composition - and thumbs up to your honesty!

I certainly wasn't trying to demean your work at all. I think it is a lovely photograph, and your flower analogy has its merits as well.

dark and taunting, the cncept is well shown here, you don't know them, but they seem familiar, in the sense of hiding an identity from the world.I like it.

My work is always so detailed but I tend to love other artist who can do work with alot of substance but not so much detail. I think it is because I can not do it myself. You are very welcome. Looking forward to seeing more.

This is a gorgeous piece. Excellent job with the lighting and post-processing. I like how you can just barely make out the details on his face. Your watermark is very tasteful.
