NOTE: Again...this is the tutorial on how I paint anatomy, in my style...I draw semi-realism/anime so the anatomy isn't 100% realistic. This ISN'T reference sheet for different body types (lol, like that's not obvious). I'll make this one later. Though inner body anatomy I draw the same for all body types.

I can see you have a fat fetish, but that is no reason to be negative at a great tutorial like this. I would rather take a healthy and fit male body as a standard than an unhealthy amorphous fat one.
Go ahead, make a tutorial for fat bodies then. A lot less lines and detail to work with. Should be easier.
-.-

Um, it's not because someone says a body type is idealized that that person has a fat fetish, y'know. Because it's clearly idealized.
Eight abs is rare and not something you see often except on persons who work out a lot. Plus you can see the body is naturally slim by how wide the shoulders are(which is really not) and stuff.
Slim and muscular as hell. Something most people find the most attractive and something the media likes a lot.
Now, it's a nice tutorial to know about muscular stuff(even if some things are off, like how high the abs are) but clearly not something you'd want to draw on everyday people except if you like to draw your characters in your favorite body type.
Showing idealized body types as ''default'' can be very damaging for some people and I don't like your attitude about it.
I understand the artist said it wasn't a ref for body types and I don't disrespect them for not doing so but I don't like your reaction to her very true comment.

That's so useful. My daughter finds males harder to draw than females, so I'll make sure to show her. Thanks for your expert tutelage.

This is semi-realistic anatomy tutorial... it's not a reference sheet for different body types. So here I specifically focused on muscular structure.

a quick question for you, sorry if this grates on your nerves at all!
are we allowed to follow the steps that you showed and make a male torso like this? I know it may seem like a stupid question but I don't want to make anyone think I'm trying to copy your style at all.

hey, it's no problem. I always love looking at your art, it brightens my day and makes me want to get better at rendering the colors and lighting of skin, as well as the muscle structure that varies for each person.

Well, I drew already when I was 3 years old... I started to draw digitally in 2007, though I draw every day and practice more often since 2009

not to sound rude, but the person's body figure look so wrinkled. but I appreciate it though.

PhanThom-art [2017-06-15 01:55:13 +0000 UTC]
This is actually anatomically incorrect. The navel is in between the second and third row of abs, and those oblique muscles on the side don't extend past the first row of abs.

Valentina-Remenar In reply to PhanThom-art [2017-06-25 14:52:40 +0000 UTC]
Every person has differently built muscles, with different placement... and yes, this isn't meant to represent realistic anatomy, which I also specified under my description. It's done in manga-realism. And anatomy was mostly referenced from 3dtotal's anatomy figurine which I also own. If I tried to make it realistic it'd be done differently.
