Quill and Jane are both leading modern, lonely lives. Quill hopes the new game will be more like how games used to be before corporate greed got in the way. Jane wants to prove she can be successful no matter what others think of her life choices.
But when they and a million other players log into Golden Impact, they realize too late that it was all an elaborate revenge scheme. Now they're trapped inside this fantasy world, and the only way to get out is to win the game.
