Description
Two ladies wearing court styles. Official court style was introduced in 1830s. It consisted of a white emboidened dress and a velvet overgown, with long tain and long, open sleeves. Dress was worn with a headdress - Kokoshnik. Kokoshnik was the only piece of traditional clothing that was still worn by noble ladies after the europeanization of Russia by Peter the Great (other traditional clothes had to be discarded in favor of western fashions). Court Kokoshnik differed greatly from that worn by peasants:Β tadarida.deviantart.com/art/Ruβ¦Related content

Just a question here but since the Russian court dress had such long trains woudent they be carried on there arms? (Or sorta to the Side) because I was looking at this painting of these ladies in waiting one time and it look like they had the train draped around the arm or something idk? Just a questionΒ
