Apprentice priestess stationed in the town of Hokes. Assigned to tend to Abel's wounds, she is the first person Abel meets, and the first to learn of the Overlord's return. Grievously wounded when a monster attacks the town, Abel saves her with the power of the angel's blood in his veins, and agrees to accompany him on the long road to Lescatie. However, there may be motives to her joining him other than merely her duty to the Church...

Many characters in Blue can trace their origins to two sources: characters who provides the initial inspiration, and characters who provides details that refine the character further. Lailah is a perfect example of this, initially inspired by Goblin Slayer's Priestess and Octopath Traveler’s Ophilia, but taking the bulk of her characteristics from BlazBlue's Noel Vermillion. Despite being a priestess, for plot-related reasons she was always intended to be more of a physical fighter instead of a cleric, though in earlier drafts, she had a preference for blunt weapons over spears. However, Lailah always retained a warm, gentle personality, and a knack for fighting somewhat unbecoming of a simple priestess.
