Well, we're coming up on one of the most terrifying holidays of the year: Election Day! The day when Americans collectively work together to decide the continued fate of our nation...or do nothing and still complain that nothing gets fixed. I try to do my part, but it's easy to become cynical about the system when so often, your vote loses. But it's important to vote in order to keep harmful people out of powerful positions.
I thought I'd draw Mayor Pauline worried about election season. One of the things I love about her in Odyssey is how competent an authority figure she is. After the Mecha-Wiggler attack, she managed to get the city functioning as usual overnight. Afterwards, she managed to get the New Donk City Festival up and running while also performing a musical number in it. The inhabitants of New Donk City have nothing but praise for her. She's a good mayor. Yet under all that, I feel she still has some doubts. As I described in another drawing , I feel she would worry about whether people only like her due to her curvy figure or if they actually like her due to her actions. She wants to be remembered for what she accomplished, not for how thicc she was.
