Description
This was an attempt at drawing a rat I made on the aforementioned date, which I consider to be a day before I "started" drawing (or, at least, learning how to draw). Before that day, I couldn't even draw a particularly decent stick figure! The concept of art was absolutely alien to me.

Then, upon deciding I wanted to learn how to draw, I started tracing. I traced photographs, I traced 3d models, I traced screenshots, essentially anything that didn't have lines. I did studies and drew from references. I BEGGED my artistically minded friends for blunt criticism. Most importantly, I drew a -lot-.

A lot of people use compliments that involve the word "talented", but I genuinely don't believe I had any more artistic talent than anyone else before that day. I took "shortcuts" to get where I am now, but I'd do it again and a hundred times more given the results I've seen.

Talent is irrelevant. Learning is everything.
