Noelle Grant  riding Cold Cash Divine  at  Pemberley Park

A few months into Diva's retraining after her surgery, Noelle makes the decision to show her in a lower class. There were only a couple double and triple combinations, so it seemed doable.

"Lindsay, I can't have this conversation right now, I'm sort of in the middle of something," Noelle grumbled, phone pressed against her shoulder and a saddle pad in her hand.
"We'll talk when I get home, I promise. I really, really have to go," she paused and chucked the pad over Diva's back, walking to the front of the stall and uncovering her saddle. "I'll call you when I'm done, fine, bye." Finally hanging up, Noelle quickly tossed the sheepskin half-pad onto her horse and went back to grab her saddle now that it was time to actually start rushing. Her class was starting soon and she didn't have time to argue with her girlfriend about a fight they had 3 days ago.
The rest of Diva's tack was carefully, but quickly, thrown on and the pair were soon walking to the warm-up ring. They didn't have a ton of time, though Noelle hoped it was enough to get Lindsay out of her thoughts so she could properly focus.
The change in scenery was no problem for the mare and if anything, she was eager to check out and sniff some of the unfamiliar jumps. Diva was doing fine, great even, yet it was Noelle that couldn't seem to get her full head into it. After finishing a few laps of trot and canter, she gave the mare a big scratch on her withers and sighed. She needed to get at least some jumping into the warm-up. She pushed Diva into a large canter and off they were, starting with a few verticals and an oxer. They knocked a few poles and did the course a few different ways after, the round beginning soon. Noelle walked the mare out of the ring and towards the other outdoor arena. On two sides there were bleachers for all of the spectators and on the far side, it looked out towards a row of pines and field.
The rider before them was approaching their last few jumps, clearing all but one. Noelle made room for them to pass as she waited there on top of Diva. She was full of energy and seemed to be ready to take down just about any jump. The mare wasn't overly cautious, so it was Noelle who had to keep both of them in check to be able to clear all of the obstacles.
Mind racing with thoughts about the conversation she had just hung up on, Noelle was snapped back into reality when her name was called over the loudspeakers. She trotted into the arena and the two of them were off in a matter of moments.
The first few jumps were a breeze. Their distances were good and they seemed collected but by the fourth, Noelle couldn't stop thinking about the sinking feeling in her stomach from the phone call. They cleared the third and were racing towards 4a and 4b. Diva skipped over the first and then when they landed the second, the mare tripped and her weight fell toward. Noelle regained their balance and they were approaching the fifth jump. The trip had caused Noelle to cut the turn a bit short and their strides were off. By the time she could fix Diva's stride, it was too late and the mare was taking off from before the correct point. Bracing for the sound of a pole being hit or another trip, Noelle instead felt the mare leap over it. They had somehow managed to clear it and with a momentary celebration pat, that jump had to be wiped from her mind. Her thoughts immediately focused on the rest of the course and they were breezing through those obstacles soon after.
As soon as they got off, Noelle didn't waste a moment to feed Diva treats, but to also get her some water. Both of them were sweating and she shed her coat off, her heartbeat finally returning to normal. The mare may not have been the most careful or calculated and she made up for it with her power.

I suck at writing but I tried haha. Had I discovered the show sooner, I would have loved to incorporate one of the sponsored jumps, just had to budget my time to actually finish the image lol. I also decided to roach Diva's mane, I think it looks cute ahah.
