awesome work..sounds like your talking about rahu(head) and ketu(body) from hindu puran. In orginal story he could not be slayed as he already drank the nectar... lord vishnu sliced his throat by his spinning chakra, thus his body and head float around universe without dying. As Surya the sun god recognized him as asura and gods could caught him as a result...rahu's head try to devour/eat sun whenever his head floats closer to sun- hence the solar eclipse (according to hindu myth)Β
