First I thought the dog was howling at the moon and that is why the moon had that cranky face - it didn't like the noise...? So is that his nose or a small howling mouth at the end of his face?

that's wonderful, and, unusually, the dog doesn't cry to the moon, but see it with a lot of intention as if it wants to see a wishing star or find the little Pierrot who lives in the moon
