Doctor Scraptrap/William Jr. Afton Lore:William Afton was a scientist who sought eternal life, so after years of study he found a way to achieve eternal life, keep the brain alive without needing a flesh body, so he placed his brain inside a Fazbear animatronic (Scraptrap, which was formerly formally called Springbonnie) who was an animatronic doctor/dentist at one of Fazbear's hospitals.
He did this to get eternal life, but he needs to stay in a tank full of novocaine to keep him sleep and a gas mask to breathe and have some oxygen.
He also put a chainsaw on his arm so he can kill people because he needs it and can only eat human flesh.
(basically he's a cannibal zombie who does scientific experiments)
