Description
A creature that has largely inspired the anatomy of the squims, its only fitting I come back to them time to time, studying them from a photo reference. I'm finding there is a great divide in my processes for how I go about painting from reference compared to imagination. Perhaps I can lessen this by utilizing more reference for my imaginative paintings, after painting this I realized I have been neglecting references out of laziness. I notice I largely use a singular round brush until the end of the painting, in the future I want to work towards relaxing after halving the initial forms in place give myself more opportunity to play with texture. In this painting I feel it was a bit to splotchy with the use of round rush and my strokes lacked purpose in many areas, I hope to improve on this in the future.
