Description
Since my group's usual GM has had to postpone indefinitely, I've been filling in as game master.
I was tasked with continuing the Unmaïre 5e game from around November. Lots of time in my notes, lots of new concept drawings, and so on and so forth. The first game was yesterday and the work of it will probably continue until summer.
This is the first of said concept drawings, for the inn where the party was stationed. It had been in my notes for a while, including the NPCs, but I hadn't actually drawn any of it.
At every point with the Unmaïre setting in general, I seek to break from the usual visual conventions of High Fantasy, and so the interior was based off of a Northern Renaissance painting that I was referencing, the exterior was based off of a building in Sienna, and the family who run the inn are based, visually and personality-wise, off of the sorts of characters and actors who appear in 70's John Waters films, notably Edith Massey, whom I have based characters off of in the past, and one of the male strippers in *Desperate Living*.
