Description
High on the sacred mountain.....There was magic in the air
The clouds surrounded the summit
The wind blew strong and cold
Somewhere in my instincts
The primitive took hold.
I stood there like a mystic
Lost in the atmosphere
I looked upon a presence
Spanning forty centuries.
I thought of time and distance
The hardships of history
I heard the hope and the hunger
When China sang to me...

I know now that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
....but by the moments that take our breath away !
being at this majestic site......this moment was one of them !
I'm posting this color pic at the request of many that wanted to see the wall in full color.

Beautiful oppitunity photo. Was this further back along the wall? Its a good perspective as well, and the vastness of the sky and mountain with the wall path makes it look small

i'll never understand the mentality of china for building that big wall over nearly a thousand years, killing off their own people, and the wall proving to be ineffective as the guards were paid off not to light the signals when enemies came. but, it is an awesome sight to see.

lol, it makes Hadrians Wall look like a gnawed shoe string in comparison. It just looks so preserved against such a barren landscape, from what I've read it's over 2000 years old in some places and some of it has erroded away. But from what I've seen in your photograph. It looks pristine.
I like how you've framed this Bernie. Having the tower at the summit, encouraging the viewer to walk up over it to peer over the barren mountainside...

I didn't know any song like this from any band from western countries, and it's about my motherland...untill I saw your photo.
I love your photos so much, especially those ones you took in China. They did give me a strong impression. Although I've been to all those places before but I could not do anything like yours. I hope I can do the same one day and show them to the world.
