“Yes, but—”
“How did I get my hands on it? Well, what can I say, I’m a man of many talents. In fact there is very nearly, almost certainly nothing that I cannot do.”
“You—!”
“Yes, ‘me.’ Although… there is one thing I cannot seem to manage, despite my innumerable talents…”
“…what?”
“I can’t seem to convince a certain airline captain to stay with this first officer.”

I imagine this happening just a few days before Martin’s departure from MJN. As a result of Douglas’ persuasively sweet banter, Martin falls madly in love with his first officer and decides to stay.
(Somewhat on a tangent: When I first heard Martin’s “capsized duck” comment, I was riding the train home from work and I suddenly burst out in a fit of uncontrollable laughter, traumatizing many of my fellow train-mates…)
