Since I see (and own) quite a few cats in my neighborhood, I can verify that, yes, even the feistiest of cats do indeed freak out like that when they see a ridiculously large cat. Except mine's a lynx-point Siamese named Baldur that wouldn't hurt a fly, but it's entertaining to see Max, the neighbor's supposedly large tabby cat, have a mini heart attack whenever he see's Baldur on the fence. Mostly because my other cat, Loki (Baldur's biological half-brother, they have the same scrawny black cat for a mom), a smaller, handsome black and white cat with an attitude, has often used his less-intelligent-but-prettier big brother as a way to scare away other cats. It's kind of funny because it's so obvious that Baldur has no idea what's he's doing, and Loki obviously hates him, so yeah, there is a reason we named them that.
I'm not sure why I just said all that, but anyways, the picture reminded me of them.
