Description CR 1 LE Medium Aberration (Necrophage, Evil) Base CR 1, advances by class levels, commonly cleric or warpriest.

A variety of Necrophage, a mysterious class of religious aberrations composed of various castes of insectile humanoids, (though the degrees to which they can be classified as humanoid varies wildly) that were so named by the few who encounter them for their religious practice of ritualistically devouring corpses in the service of their god, the rotting remains of a deity slain in a long forgotten cataclysm.

Worldcrawlers, as they refer to themselves, are the caste most likely to be encountered as close to civilized society as the armed militias that defend it will allow them to enter. They serve as missionaries for their religion, attempting to spread their practices to other races, in the hopes of earning converts (in a most literal sense, initiates are eventually transformed into pupal necrophages, known among their fold as Mori) While they have found great success among goblinoids, troglodytes, certain groups of orcs, and the many more savage creatures of the world, their attempts to win converts among the civil folk are typically met with failure, violence, and horrified confusion. (Cannibals notwithstanding). Not realizing their failures in prostelytization are the result of a fundamental misunderstanding of humanoid psychology and culture, owing to their alien minds, some Worldcrawlers established a secondary purpose for themselves; to observe humanoids and their ways, in an attempt to adapt parts of their religion into a fashion that the civil folk might find more palatable, believing their failures to be due to simple distaste rather than visceral revulsion, something they and their kin have little concept of.

Some Worldcrawlers, in their efforts to better understand humanoid society, encounter adventuring parties while taking shelter in ruins and the like, and, believing them to be an integral aspect of civilized culture, assert themselves into such groups and embroil themselves in conflict, not the least of which being their usually unwilling compatriots coming to terms with the horrific cockroach man following them around.

Worldcrawlers, barring Rotter Deathpriests, or other Necrophages cast into warrior roles, are the only members of their ilk to wear any form of clothing, usually a vest of some sort, concealing a second, smaller pair of arms in the middle of their chest. This is not the reason they do so, of course, instead owing to their belief that people's fear of them was due to their nakedness, rather than their repulsive appearance.

Their abilities include an acidic bite, enhanced powers of divination, their race's iron constitution, near immunity to poisons, and the ability to emit a droning tone with their voice that unsettles those who hear it.
