SPOILERS FOR NO RETURN BELOW. SPPOOOIIILLEEERSSS.

The last chapter's ending, I've been so excited to finally reach that! I've been striving to reach it for a long time, and especially for the upcoming chapter I'm writing. So, the next chapter we'll be entering the new arc, "Stone's Intention". So, of course, we'll be learning much more about Slate/Stone.

no but srsly guys. I'm so excited to write this arc out and reveal things and know what you guys think and HHHHHH. And it's not the only arc left, there's like two more after that!! (yeah, i said it's close to the ending, but i just keep making it longer)(dont worry the last arc is really small)

YOU GUYS I'M SO HYPED TO WRITE AND REVEAL AND ASDFGHJ.

So yeah, in Stone's Intention arc we will learn more about the three prophecies (or two), Bryce, the royal blood family, and of course, Stone. Stone stone stone stone stone

Now for a character reminder/thought post! Yay!

ANYWAY, this is about Slate and Stone~ *is trying not to give spoilers*

Now, people - the other characters in the story, even me and some of you readers I've learned, tend to think of the two personas. Slate is depicted as the "good" side, while Stone is seen as the "bad", or even "evil" side. Although, to a sense, neither are any of these traits. They both have different strengths and weaknesses along with that.
Now, I'm not trying to say Stone isn't a bad person. I'm pretty sure torturing and killing people puts you into the "bad" and "evil" factor. All I merely want to point out is that the two aren't as different as it's depicted to be. Stone just has a much stronger impact, because he's, well, rash and impulsive. He fails to see the consequences of his actions. Here's a little preview, Oke will soon point out that the two personas are like dogs. Slate is the domesticated pet, while Stone is the wild one.
Slate isn't as obsessive, cruel, crazy, possessive and impulsive as Stone, he's far too reserved and passive. He needs Stone's impulse and strength to do what he wants to do, to fight back when he needs to. This was shown when he reached his "breaking point" - he went fucking insane for a moment there. He even intended to hurt - or possibly kill - Brett, because he "wasn't weak anymore". Then, of course, he vanished from there, remaining gone for an entire arc, for eight whole, long chapters.
That shows that Slate isn't as different as Stone.
And Stone needs Slate's stability, and his general will-power. Stone does whatever he wants to do, just like that, it's impulse. And the fact that he fails to see the consequences clinches that.
I think that's why I enjoy writing the interactions between Slate and Lucy. Because it's Lucy that draws out the best in him. Which is, of course, the stability to remain calm and whatnot. So, I'm pretty excited to finish up the chapters and get to not only Stone, but to him and Lucy. I really want to show his thoughts about her.
Stone really does want to be Slate, but being that is way too painful, especially with the things that had piled up. To him, it's much easier to be the ruthless prophecy "Stone". Their personalities were split at a young age, and it was Slate who got to feel emotions and interact with people.
GAH! This character is way too complex for me - and I'm the creator.

ASDFGH, I'm really happy with how this came out! I was debating whether to keep this and wait, to post it on the eighteenth, considering that's Slate's birthday and all... Augh, but I really wanted to share this! ;__; I'll have to think of something else to post for Slate's birthday-

shit shit shit shit, okay, i'll start now. Which birthday is closer - OH SHIT OKE'S IS ON THE FIFTH OKAY, I'LL GET RIGHT ON IT. (shit he's another complex character, especially after the latest chap)
