House Gardener
Before Aegon’s Conquest, it was House Gardener who ruled over The Reach, not House Tyrell. It was founded by Garth Greenhand during the Dawn Age, the time of the First Men coming to Westeros. Given that The Reach’s main exports are fruit and wine, it gives me an Italian vibe. And who lived in Ancient Italy? Drum roll please… the Romans! So that’s what I used as inspiration for the House Gardener outfit. Not much else to this one, really.

The new Targaryen Kings and Queens made a lot of changes, including making the Tyrells the great house of The Reach, with House Gardener becoming extinct. They were granted the title “paramount of the Mander”, a river that runs though The Reach. This made me want to focus mainly on Venice as a source of inspiration. While the (arguably) most famous fashion in Venice comes from the renaissance period, my 0 AC real-world time period equivalent is around the second half of the 11th century, so it was a little too early for that. Instead I gave her a rope belt to imitate the high waists and golden arm bands as a nod to the slashed sleeves that’ll come a few centuries later. I chose yellow as the main colour for this outfit as I imagine the Tyrells, at first, woud’ve wanted to distinguish themselves from the Gardeners.
