This is filled with imagination like I've never seen before! This is stunning in just everything. The details, colour, style, technique and the idea itself, portraying a child's powerful imagination, all put together to create a wonderful piece! No words can really begin to describe how much I'm blown away by your talent.
Only a small thing that I can critique on this is that the bathtub and sink seem a little small compared to the boy, but that can be easily compensated for by everything else.
All in all, a fantastic piece of work. Keep up the superb work!

The concept is marvelous, and the title is so cute and perfect. I like the ingeniously executed echo between the real-life sea creatures and the toys in the bath-tub. Moreover, you created a believable composition full of life and motion where most artists would have struggled with the visual challenge of smoothly integrated the real world with the imaginary. The color, shading, and outlining remind me pleasantly of old-fashioned children's books. One thing I don't like is how the head of the large octopus appears oddly elongated and uncomfortably squished against the shower curtain. His head just seems too drastically bent and makes the octopus seem less realistic. However this is the only jarring note in an otherwise stunning piece guaranteed to make anyone smile.

Firstly, I'd like to start out by saying that I you have wonderful line quality, which is what I noticed first off. line variation is hard, especially when it comes to inking. And color can really interrupt a nice line and I think the marriage of the two in this composition was a success. I like that the octopus is coming out at the viewer and the implied sense of movement within the transition between reality and make believe. Its a wonderful technique in engaging your viewer without eye contact or one point view.
I think I only have a one or two things to pick at here. Though, the transition between the boys imagination and his bath time is obvious, I can't help but to feel a little unbalanced. I can't tell if there's an interruption in continuity of perspective (Meaning the floor/tub/wall) or if its just the towel rack and its location outside of the bathroom and inside of his imagination. If that wasn't there perhaps there were be a slightly better flow. But this is just a preference. Also, there scale of the tube in relation to the rest of the bathroom seems to be a bit off. But I can see the strength of the composition would suffer were you to change one or the other. Perhaps scaling both would help with that a little.
Overall, I think your composition is informed and well thought out. I can tell that you've applied a lot of advanced techniques that contribute to a really fun and nostalgic illustration. Who didn't love bath time, right?

This piece has stuck with me since the first time I stumbled upon it. That was YEARS ago.
I am now in the process of decorating my bathroom, with this as the inspiration. Thank you!
(P.S. I just went through about 30 pages of favorites looking specifically for this.)

Aside from the obvious display of ability, what strikes me most is that it's relatable. There was never I time in my life when I was drifting off into a scenario not unlike this. I would think that a lot of people who visit this site and almost all of the ones who contribute know exactly what I mean. Solid work and fantastic conceptuality.Β
