Taubenstrasse was dark, ominous, and filled with danger. Evelyn Morris - Code Name: Blue Plate - walked quietly towards to the Berlin Wall and the crossing to Checkpoint Charlie - followed by Stasi and assassins in the night. Her briefcase was filled with the papers passed to her by Herman Krauss and hidden in the lining. The guards at the gate would only see innocuous briefcase contents of a young American in Cold War Berlin - pens, paper, company stamp, nail file, and an extra lipstick.
All she needed now was safe passage to that gate...
